Tippmann Phenom Mechanical - None Electronic Version

Straight from my direct line in Tippmann. A new Tippmann Phenom model not quite like a V2 version but rather an entry level model. It is is pretty much the same, except for no electronics. It is a cheaper version of the marker but it still will have the availability to shoot electronically via an e-grip upgrade, essentially turning it into a normal Phenom.There is an updated mag.

The selector switch only has two positions on this grip, safe and manual..

Looks like the Phenom is really after settling in. I am expecting more details on it tomorrow. Check out my review of the Phenom from a while ago, its still going strong :)

PSP 2010 World Cup Masters Class: Age Rule Change

The Masters class must be hurting if they have changed this rule. The have decreased the age limited from 40 and older to allow a team to include some 30-39 year old players to make up a squad.

Teams may field up to two players per point aged 30 - 39, so long as those players are using mechanical markers only!

In previous seasons, all players needed to be at least 40 years old to compete in the PSP Masters Division. This year, all players 40 years or older (by October 21, 2010) may play in this division, but Masters teams may also field up to two players per point who are at least 30 years old, provided those players are using mechanical markers only. The players who are at least 40 years of age do not need to use a mechanical marker.

This division will be a RaceTo-4 format following the rules of D3 RaceTo-4. Rosters will be capped at 10 players and 5 staff members. Registration is now open for the Master's Division with the team entry fee of $---- (until Friday, September 17th. The price will then increase to $----).

In addition the normal competition the NPPL will host an Exhibition Match on Friday and Saturday debuting the new NPPL S7 Format. This new format was played in DC during the All Star Game and the league is considering using this format for 2011. The League is looking to invite one player from each D2 and D3 7man team to play the new format along side Pro Players.

The NPPL will also host the Paintball Celebrity Poker Tournament and a Players party where the NPPL Hall of Fame inductees will be announced. Each Team Packet will be loaded with discount coupons for Vegas nightclubs, shows, restaurants and deals at the trade show.

In addition to the competition there will be a Hugh trade show where many of the Paintball Manufactures will be debuting their 2011 paintball line of products. The trade show is open to the public.

How does this work?
The map is of course provided by Google Maps, but all of the magic is handled behind the scenes thanks to jQuery and JSON.

How do I view a specific state?
You can view a specific state four different ways:

While viewing the Paintball Field & Store section, use the Jump to: menu in the top right of the map to select a state (or country!).
By visiting a hand crafted url such as http://www.pbnation.com/fields/pa/.
Enter your zipcode in the Field & Store finder box on the top of the site, and click Go.
Visit the old US Field map and click on a state.

I've found some incorrect or outdated information, how do I fix it?
Easy! Just click the "Revise" button on that listing to submit a revision.

I submitted my field/store, but it doesn't show up on the map!
This could happen for one of two reasons:

Your field has not been approved by our Field & Store moderators, which can take up to one week.
We were unable to look up the latitude & longitude of your field or store. You can email us updated coordinates and we'll update your listing for you.

I don't know how to find my listing's latitude & longitude!
Head over to this website and center the crosshairs on your field or store.

How do I become an Ultimate or Premier field?
Find your listing in the Field & Store section, and click the Upgrade button to get started.

I recommend that the Irish sites get on this map. We've seen a few tourists post up asking for a site around Ireland, who knows how many haven't found this site to ask. If you put your site on here you'll have a leg up when paintball tourists come over.

For those that don't know, PBnation is the largest sports forum on the net, (well, it was last time i checked) so it's likely people traveling here will have heard of it and will think to check it.

Paul Ciesiun ’06 (entrepreneurship) is the holder of three patents, and like most successful entrepreneurs, wears many hats. He is president of Exiled Paintball Inc., an IP holding research/development firm. Ciesiun also owns and manages daily operations of Hydro-Caps LLC which uses a proprietary method for manufacturing paintballs that are environmentally friendly, yet cheaper and more durable than any competing product currently on the market.

So is it just a cheaper manufacturing method? That'd be great!

From a quick read (it helps a lot if you just ignore the numbers, they correspond with a diagram) it seems that they're a bioluminescent paintballs. The paint fill reacts with the shell when the break on impact and the paint lights up making hits much more visible.

Paintball Penetrates the Great Wall of China

We are very proud to announce to all the official formation of PALS China which consists of Mr. Michael Tan and Mr. Michael Whybrew, and the establishment of the China Cup as the 1st leg of PALS 2011 in Hainan, China.

As of now (Aug 2010), the China Cup is set for the 24th - 27th March 2011.

We would like to commend PALS China for their achievement in getting the go-ahead from the strict authorities of China to carry out this historic event for the most populated country in the world.

China, with its population of 1.3 billion, is the largest untapped market in Asia, making up a good one-third of the Asian population. PALS China will be bringing paintball to a mind-boggling number of people, in a country famous for executing events on a grand and massive scale.

We sincerely do believe that this entry into China will bring about significant opportunities for both the global paintball industry and have significant impact for the recognition of paintball as a mainstream sport.

PALS, together with all her partners within the Asia Pacific region, and from Europe and US, will be doing their utmost to ensure the success of the event.
