If that's actually true and to be fair the line between fiction and reality when it comes to all things paintball in Ireland is something which is becoming increasingly blurred, I'll certainly NOT be making ANY effort whatsoever to attend any of the IWL events. Wouldn't be much point turning up, paying, winning (obviously) and being told it didn't count because we weren't wearing multicam......

There's a need for "free for all" game of paintball, maybe even free for all Paintballer.ie cup.
Unfortunately there's no place big enough to accomodate all the players. Not that there is lack of motivation...
That might be world class event.
Anyway in such case the Americans will probably fly into and kill everyone. Glen for his resemblance to OBL, Mak for being international arms dealer, Paulie for hoarding insane number of guns, Dusty because I will tip them off to do it, and Richie so there will be no photographic evidence. The rest of you will die as collateral damage, except of Enemy who will die because he is Enemy and Charlie because he is Charlie.

Has the recession really taken peoples sense of humour around here, the chairman won, nothing wrong with that.

With all the talk though lads about iwl and woodsballers, if say for instance ALL the woodsballers started to play airsoft then the forum would be a very quiet place indeed, our numbers are small as it is. If i joined the forum as a new player and seen say approx 20- 40 people on it i wouldnt see much future for paintball in ireland.

Anyways i think the overall, does anyone think there would be an issue if say the ipl was running this year and they needed a logo and players who wouldnt have any intention of ever playing speedball voted on it...

Paul, while I agree with everything else you've said, I'd just like to say, that for example, if you had used the logo I put in (hypothetically) presumably I'd have had to go to an IWL event, at the very least to have a look at how it turned out.

I'd also have had to chat with the IWL seriously about whether they needed any changes/sizes/formats/different types before they wanted to use it, cos I understand what a hassle it can be to implement a logo or branding depending on what needs doing.

In doing so, I would have built up a rapport and be much more likely to take part in IWL/IWL discussions. I'm not disagreeing with you, just trying to say it could have worked well. I'm still up for having a look at IWL events, don't get me wrong, but this could have gone a long way.

Paulie, I personally wouldn't have a problem as long as people were voting honestly what they liked, it's an aesthetic choice at the end of the day, we aren't "fine" artists who go "you don't like it because you don't understand".

In my mind, if the majority of the target market don't like a logo, it won't be effective, simple as that. (and obviously a really bad one can even damage a company/organisation)

At the end of the day I honestly don't mind, I was taking the piss a little, sorry about that. Obviously I'd be happy for the IWL to use my logo, but I'd be just fine if not. I have other work and am focused on other things - no offence intended at all, but it isn't a top priority.

All in all, yeah, I don't think there should ever be woodsballers vs speedballers except maybe in jest, and in extreme moderation at that. as paul said, paintball is paintball.

enough said dont ya think glens post wasnt from the iwl commitee as far as im aware the chairman won and we will be talking to him about his logo i cant believe the amout of fuss over logos and derailing topic after topic this logo compitition was about promoting the league in a positive way getting feedback and interation with players in general not an excuse for people to argue about speedball or woodsball again
